Full-time opening for entry-level fundraising professional seeking growth opportunity as part of an experienced development team!  Under the direction of the President/CEO, the Development Specialist is responsible for the planning, implementation, and oversight of development activities including prospect research, donor cultivation and engagement, and special events. The position is responsible for donor data base management, initiating and facilitating meetings with constituents and prospective donors, and providing general development support as necessary. Responsible for managing agency marketing projects through timely communication, direction, and coordination with external marketing vendors. The role supports the Major Gift Officer and President/CEO in cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors and key stakeholders to enhance agency visibility and financial resources.  


Strong interpersonal and written communication skills required to effectively engage donors and Foundation board members, with two years' philanthropy and community relations experience preferred. Successful candidate will possess relevant education or credentials in Philanthropy, Communications, or Public Relations; CFRE preferred.  Understanding of marketing strategies and the ability to support and assist in developing agency marketing efforts preferred.  Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, donor management software, WordPress, and website and social media postings required.
